What this local school does to celebrate Veterans Day will make you proud

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — A local elementary school is making it their mission to create a new song each year for Veterans Day.

The tradition, which began in 2009, continued this year as Mr. Souders’ third grade class sang a newly composed song to veterans.

“I got such a great response from all over the country and really all over the world, for people that were looking for new, positive American Music, music that is really rhanking our Veterans,” Tussing Elementary School Music Teacher Michael Souders said.

About 80 third graders learn and then perform the new song each year.

In the process, they learn the importance of remembering and honoring our veterans and their service.
