‘Get the hell out!’ Grandma chases thieves from her home

TACOMA, Washington — When a Washington grandmother found a group of men trying to steal things from her home, she made it very clear that they needed to leave. Guilda Messina, 78, was taking a nap Tuesday when she heard something break downstairs. When she opened her door, she saw three men grabbing valuables in her living room.

“All I knew was they were in my house and they needed to get out. Period,” Messina said.

She confronted the men and chased them out of the home. She can be seen on surveillance video and heard shouting “Get the hell out of here!” as the men run out the front door. One man even ran right past her as he bolted out of the home.

It’s a response members of law enforcement usually discourage. For Messina, though, there was never a concern she might get hurt.

“I’m a mom. It’s like you know. Automatic. I’m the boss,” Messina said, talking about her tough response.

As for regrets, she said she had none.

“I did it. I would do it again.”
